In our book club we often read books about hearing loss or disability or featuring a character with those characteristics. In October’s selection, William Kent Krueger’s novel This Tender Land, one of the main characters, Mose, is rendered mute by a horrific mutilation that happens to him and his friends communicate with him using sign language.

About HLAA-TC Book Club: All book clubs are open to all and are captioned (we use the Zoom AI/computer captions for book clubs). Book club meets every fourth Tuesday (unless announced otherwise). We often read books about hearing loss, disability or deafness (or featuring a character with those characteristics). We typically alternate reading nonfiction and fiction books every month.
