On Tuesday, August 26th HLAA-TC Book Club met to discuss the children’s book “Can She HEAR This Cat’s Meow?” with authors and guests Julia Metternich Olson and Colleen Julia Cline. We used their book as a way to talk about how to talk about hearing loss in families. The second half of book club we discussed the young adult novel “Hurt Go Happy” by Ginny Rorby. The two books were chosen not because of similar subject matter or tone, they were both geared towards younger readers and did both deal with hearing loss.
